The Journey of Lazy Jackalope

It's been a journey for sure. Some of our best ideas have come from road tripping in the car and that is where the journey of Lazy Jackalope began.

We have always had the creative spirit, but that doesn't always pay the bills. Matt loves working with his hands, building things from literal scraps and I love making my daydreams come to life through graphic design and art.

Matt started by building cornhole boards for family and friends. From Texas Longhorn to the team who shall not be named to San Antonio Spurs and Houston Astros, he has hand-painted cornhole boards for fans across Texas. When I learned the man could paint, I said we need to make this a business, so we started dreaming...

In the car, on another road trip to see family, we started coming up with names for the business. It took us several trips in the car (thousands of miles of Texas), lots of Googling, and sketching out names and logos to finally settle on Lazy Jackalope. A lot of our influence in creating a business like Lazy Jackalope has come from other arts like music, God's creation of Earth, and the gorgeous landscapes across Texas.

We wanted a name for a business that could really unleash our creative sides, no matter what that looked like. Over the years, this has looked like custom cornhole and washer boards, custom-built furniture, furniture repair, chicken coops, bird houses, custom closet built-ins and more to come. Matt loves refurbishing wood into beautiful works of art that will be part of your family for years to come. More recently, this has been expressing our quirky side through graphic design and sharing our art on products like shirts and hats.

We want to thank you for coming along this journey with us. We have so much more to come!
